been watching a lot of recentish adam sandler movies like "hotel transylvania," 'that's my boy," "you don't mess with zohan," and "bedtime stories" and i'm so dissapointed.

they're crude, rude and not even attempting to be funny.

Mom had her 칠공주 friends over, so I finally went to see "Cloud Atlas."

I wish C hadn't waxed lyrically about how the movie changed his life, because I spent too much time cognitively tracking the film. I still liked it. The gay lovers and neoSeoul parts were my favorite, but that's just because I think it all sums down to love. I think the movie was more about humanity as a whole. I didn't really think it was entirely about race and oppression, as C hypothesized, so maybe it's that.

I really shouldn't let people talk about movies so much before I go watch them, but I didn't want to be rude.

Went to the baking affinity fellowship and I had a great time. Yum yum food!

And More Movies

Went to 동대문 메가박스 for the 조조 showing of "Rise of the Guardians" and loved it. So much better than watching it online. I loved the experience of going to a nearly empty theater alone, eating free caramel popcorn, and being able to ooh and ahh and cry without having to worry about anyone.

I need an animation studio.

I also watched "Just Buried," which was seriously horrible.

I realized the only Pixar movies I haven't seen are "Cars" and "Cars 2" so I watched those. Then I watched "Mater's Tall Tales."

Watched the return of some favorite shows like "Happy Endings," "Guys with Kids," "The Mob Doctor," "Ben and Kate,"  "The Neighbors," "Go On," "Suburgatory," "Nashville," and "Bunheads."

Watched "Monster High: Ghouls Rule" and "Love You Mean It by Whitney Cummings."

I think I watched another movie, but seriously I can't remember.

More Movies

Watched "This is Forty." It was incredibly horrible, more than the critics panned.

Watched "Wreck-it Ralph." The arcade twist on "Toy Story," it was pretty cute.

Watched "Legally Blonde: The Musical" on YouTube. It was truly horrendous.

Used our new oven for the first time. It's certifiably scary, and I'm not sure how to use it. Ugh.

what lovelies

A bunch of things were accomplished today.

First, went to 동대문종합상가 to buy supplies for a bracelet for a friend and a necklace for my grandmother's housekeeper. Going anywhere with supplies is always like entering a candy store for me. Amazing, irresistible and full of temptation.

As part of my financially fit 2013, I had to try really hard not to buy that much. I still ended up spending 1,200 won on two pieces of ribbon and 65,000 won on some pearls, plastic strands, and sparkly balls. So. Could have been better, could have been worse. I made some pretty nice pieces.

I also went to a nail art shop and but a stone file stick and some rhinestones for 3,000 won. As it was my first time visiting the store, it was pretty fun.

I got my 2012 dental checkup. Waited all day to go meet Irene, and was pretty hurt when she called me that Kathy stopped by on her way home from the airport to say hi. I mean she could have told me earlier. Plus I had all this stuff for her and Benn. C'est la vie.

Watched 3 movies: "New Year's Eve," "Hotel Transylvania," and "The Odd Life of Timothy Green." Dud, dud, cute.

happy 2013!

Happy New Year!

It really is a testament to my unproductive being that my last post was a year ago. On New Year's Day. Okay, it was Lunar New Year, but you get the gist. 

It was a call to new beginning that I tried to jump start this blog. Fail. But 2013 can be different.

This time it is an attempt to track everything I do or make, because memory is fleeting. Plus, it will act as a catalyst to attempt more things.

And now time for my New Year's Resolutions! I actually was really good a keeping my resolution last year. It helped that I only had one, as vague as it was.

In 2013:
1. Get healthy!
2. Get happy!
3. Be productive.

Today was a beautiful snowy day, the kind that is like powder, and not like sleet. A winter wonderland. I wish I had photographs for you. It seemed like an auspicious start to 2013, the Year of the Snake. Which strictly speaking, probably begins on Lunar New Year's Day.

Nevertheless, Happy New Year to us all! Hope all your dearest wishes and wildest dreams come true!
